Fun At AWANAS

Crazy hair night is always fun at AWANAS.

Every year, all the kids get to make a pine wood car and enter it into the AWANA grand prix. Here are some pictures of Noah and Robby making the car. Noah wanted to design the car after the Star Wars X Wing Fighter.

The race track.

Noah's race in the first heat.

He won that race, but didn't qualify for the final round, but...

He won first place for design!

He was so excited!

Some close ups of his car.

So today, Sophie and I had way too much fun celebrating Yonga and Yongi's birthdays. We went all out with cake and candles and presents. Here are some pictures of our party.

With all their presents...

Blowing out the candles.

We let Yonga try to eat cake by herself, but she was too messy so...

Sophie ended up feeding her.

Yongi is a big boy and can sit in a booster seat, not a high chair like his sister.

Presents! Yonga can't wait to play with her new car!

Sophie had to help with the unwrapping.

Yonga got a new play cell phone. Something she has wanted for a while now.

Yongi could hardly contain himself when he realized he got the airplane he had asked for. He wouldn't let it go!

Yonga loves her new baby!

Portland Trip

Okay, I know it's been a while since I posted. So here are some pictures of our trip to Portland. We had a great time and lots of snow! The kids really enjoyed spending time with extended family. I spent a lot of time helping my sister out who had just had a baby November 28.

The view from my sister's deck.

On our birthday, my parents took Paul and I out to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.

My brother Philipp, almost crushing Noah while tubing at Mt. Hood.

Some of the cousins (and a friend) at Mt. Hood.

My mom and I.

At the Children's Museum.

The snow piled up on my sister's deck!

My niece, baby Katja.

My other niece, Isa.

Sophie got to cook a mini meal with this real antique kitchen. She loved it!

Out in the snow the first day we got there.

The other day when I went into Sophie's room to look for her, I found her like this...

Completely out!

They Are Done!

After a lot of hard work (we decided to do all the work ourselves), Noah and Sophie's rooms are finally done after the damage from Hurricane Ike. They are excited to have their rooms back, but I think Robby and I are even more excited that we have our room back...to ourselves, that is.

Happy 7th Anniversary!

November 23rd was Robby and my 7th anniversary! I can't believe it. Time goes by so fast!
Our kids spent the night at a friends house so we had the night alone.
Robby took me to The Melting Pot, which I had always wanted to go to. It was awesome! The food was so good and we were definitely full when we left. After that, we went to see the new James Bond movie. It was a wonderful night!

Dessert....Yum!

Fun With The Neighbors

Since the hurricane, our back fence has been down and has been more of a blessing than anything else. In fact, it will be the last thing we repair because it is so convenient to hang out with our neighbors. They have 3 boys and Noah and Sophie want to play outside all day with them. Here are some pictures of them having fun!

Army soldier (Bryce), Darth Vader (Noah), Wolverine (Camden)

Batman (Blake, Sleeping Beauty (Sophie)

They caught several lizards that day.

Building army forts in the sand.

And volcanoes...

Sophie Talk

The other day, we were driving to get ice cream when Sophie suddenly said, "Abba and Ima, Sophie is a hard name to say, so you can just call me Princess." We couldn't even respond we were laughing so hard!
